A Golf Course Superintendent is the professional in charge of managing all aspects of a golf course, including turfgrass health, landscaping, and irrigation. They lead maintenance teams, operate specialized equipment, manage budgets, and apply scientific knowledge to ensure the course is aesthetically pleasing and offers high-quality playing conditions. Key Responsibilities · Agronomic Management: They maintain, cut, and treat multiple turf grass varieties, using science-based knowledge of botany and chemistry to manage soil conditions. · Resource & Irrigation Management: They manage and troubleshoot sophisticated watering and irrigation systems. · Staff Leadership: Superintendents hire, train, and supervise the maintenance staff and crew. · Equipment Maintenance: They oversee the care and upkeep of mowers, tractors, and other machinery. · Environmental & Chemical Management: They plan and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments safely. · Budget & Administration: They manage the annual maintenance department budget and order necessary supplies. · Other duties as assigned We value energetic team players who take pride in their work and are committed to creating beautiful outdoor spaces!
