NOTE: Coaches who hold current teaching certification do not need to obtain athletic coaching certification. • Basic Life Support Program (First Aid, CPR and AED). The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates: 3-Year Temporary Certificate (Issued ONLY to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5-Year Certificate.
